We have attached a copy of a leaflet explaining the practice merger.Merger Leaflet

Haughmond View Medical Practice and Mount Pleasant Medical Centre are pleased to announce that we will be merging on the 1st April 2016, forming one new, larger practice to be known as Severn Fields Medical Practice.

Haughmond View and Mount Pleasant Medical Practices have a history of working closely together and this merger means that we will be able to offer a larger variety of services to our patients. While the name of the practice will change, the new practice will continue to operate under our shared values and ethos, placing patients at the centre of our services.

We are aware that our patients may have questions about the merge and some of these are answered below.

  • Will my registered GP change?

No. All patients will be registered with their current GP and patients will still have a choice of GP, Nurse or other staff when they make an appointment. In fact, the merge between Haughmond View and Mount Pleasant will give patients from both practices a wider choice of clinical staff to consult with.

  • Will the reception team change?

You will still see and speak to the same receptionists when you come into the practice and telephone us, and also meet some new faces. The merge means that we will have a larger team to deal with enquiries at the desk and answer telephone calls at busy times, dealing with calls and queues more effectively.

  • Will the practice move?

No. You may see some changes to our waiting room over time and the location of the clinical rooms may change but the new practice will continue to operate from the first floor of Severn Fields Health Village.

  • What telephone number will I use to contact the practice?

Both telephone numbers will remain active, though the main number will be 01743 281950.

  • Will I still be able to book ‘out of hours’ appointments?

Yes. We will continue to offer extended surgery hours and the increase in clinical staff will mean that more of these appointments will be available to patients.

  • Can I get more involved in the new practice?

Yes! ow Ho Both Haughmond View and Mount Pleasant Medical Practices Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) will merge in April. Both are always looking for new members to share ideas, feedback and get involved with the practice. If you want to find out more, contact:

Jenny Billington (Haughmond View PPG Chair)

Roland Brown (Mount Pleasant PPG Chair)

  • I have more questions. Where can I find more information?

There will be an open evening at 7.00pm on January 18th 2016 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Meadow Farm Drive, Shrewsbury, where patients from both practices are welcome to attend for more information.
