The surgery operates an appointment system for all consultations.
An appointment is usually for 10 minutes and is for ONE PATIENT only . If you need longer, or there are two or more patients to see the doctor or nurse, please can you tell the receptionist when you make the appointment.
Given sufficient notice, you can usually see the doctor or nurse of your choice, although this may not always be possible due to holidays or sickness.
We book a set number of appointments with each doctor up to 4 weeks in advance. All other appointments are same day appointments, which can be booked on the day that you wish to be seen.
We have a number of telephone consultations each day. Please use these if you think the problem can be dealt with over the phone and are sure that it does not require a physical examination.
Nurse appointments also last 10 minutes and can be booked 2 weeks in advance, telephone consultations are available with the nurse at certain times of the day, please ask the receptionist if you wish to book one of these.
Due to the range of appointments we offer our reception staff have been instructed to ask you why you are coming. This enables them to offer you the most appropriate appointment for your needs.

Triage
At busy times or at times of staff absence we operate a nurse triage system. This involves you being contacted by a trained practice nurse who will discuss your problem with you and advise on the most appropriate course of action.
